“EASTER: CHRIST ‘IN ANOTHER FORM’” – EASTER BROADCAST BY THE STUDENTS OF THE SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY, NATIONAL AND KAPODISTRIAN UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS

INVITATION

You are warmly invited to participate in the event “Easter: Christ ‘in another form’”, an Easter broadcast by the students of the School of Theology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, members of the secretariat of the international conference “Orthodox Theology in the 21st century. Challenges and Perspectives”.

HOLY AND GREAT SATURDAY, 18 APRIL 2020, 17:00-20:00

As Orthodox Christianity is about to celebrate Easter, the metropolis of forgiveness, reconciliation and agape, amid strict protective measures against the coronavirus epidemic, we extend an open and public invitation to all professors, staff, students and researchers to commit “two mites” of your time in our broadcast and send your very own Easter message to the academic community and the world.

Capitalising on the fact that the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and its School of Theology have promptly succeeded in launching their undergraduate and postgraduate courses online, our initiative aims to highlight that our community stands tall and united in these hard times,
and that we may together co-celebrate, albeit somehow differently this year, Easter, the foremost celebration of the Christian Orthodox Church. Having physically distanced ourselves from each other due to the coronavirus outbreak does not and should not mean isolation; we are a community embracing life and solidarity founded on the faith of the Church in Christ’s Resurrection in which “we celebrate the abolition of death, the destruction of Hades and the first fruit of everlasting life”.
